Course Code and Title:  RIISS00033 Standard 11 Underground Coal Mine Safety Induction
This course is specific for workers intending to work underground mining operations

Award Issued: Upon successful completion of this course the participant will receive:
A statement of Attainment listing the competencies attained will be issued following successful completion of the course. A wallet size photo ID card listing competencies and date of expiry (by mail shortly after completion of course.)

Pre-Requisites: RIISS00034 – Standard 11 – Surface Coal Mine Safety Skill Set. Applicants note that the Standard 11 – Surface Operations is a prerequisite to attend this course.

Recertification: 5 Yearly

Duration: 8 Hours

Course Description: This course is an introduction for new and a refresher for existing mine workers to the prerequisites and induction requirements of Standard 11 – Underground Operations.

Objectives: It includes the resource industry unit of competency combined with a workplace familiarization and assessment that enables participants to commence work in the mining industry and in particular the Queensland Coal Mining Industry.

Course Content: RIIERR203D – Escape from hazardous situations unaided.

Assessment: Assessment will be performed progressively throughout the course using demonstrations of practical skills, scenario’s and short answer theory questions.
