Course Title: Standard 11 Mine Induction – RPL Process

Course Code: RIISS00034 Surface, RIISS00033 Underground

Award Issued: Upon successful completion of this course the participant will receive:

A statement of attendance.

A statement of Attainment listing the competencies attained will be issued following successful completion of the course.
A wallet size photo ID card listing competencies and date of expiry (by mail shortly after completion of course)

Pre-requisites: Prior completion of training and experience to demonstrate prior learning.

Recertification: 5 yearly

Duration: N/A

Application Process: If a coal mine worker can provide evidence that they are an experienced coal mine worker who has actively worked in a coal mine in the past 12 months then they may apply to have Standard 11 issued as an RPL.

To do this the applicant must: 

Complete and submit the LifeAid RPL Application Form.

Provide referee details of someone who can provide coal mine work related experience information confirming their recent work on a coal mine. 

Complete a challenge test provided by LifeAid in the presence of a suitably qualified trainer/assessor if requested by LifeAid. 

Provide a recent passport photo. 

Once all documentation is supplied a LifeAid trainer/assessor will contact the applicant to arrange an interview (this may be done by telephone)

Course Description: This RPL course is for existing mine workers to achieve the current requirements of Standard 11 – Surface Operations. It includes 6 resource industry units of competency combined with a workplace familiarisation and assessment that enables participants to commence work in the mining industry and in particular the Queensland Coal Mining Industry.

Course Content: Determined by each candidates gap analysis.

Assessment: Assessment will be performed progressively throughout the course using demonstrations of practical skills, scenario’s and short answer theory questions.
